Wind Tie Systems develops a detailed structural analysis for each project. Each structure is analyzed with respect to dead (self weight) loads, floor live loads, roof live loads, and hurricane force wind loads. Wind Tie has developed sophisticated in-house computer software for this analysis. The Software models each structure under various combinations of these loads with special attention given to the effects of hurricane force winds. The engineer then begins the process of designing a system to resist these loads.

Wind Tie does not use simplified charts or prescriptive methods. The wind analysis is performed in accordance with the more refined procedure of ASCE 7 "Analytical Procedure". The prescriptive methods used by others typically result in excess material design for the majority of their structures. In addition, the prescriptive methods at times fail to identify the areas of high concentrated loading. The result of using our more refined analysis is typically a cost savings in materials to our clients and proper attention given to the design of the high load areas of the structure.
