After carefully engineering and designing each order, our world class truss plants take over. In each plant, a series of prep teams, each with their respective responsibilities assemble materials, cut, and then code each board in a specific order and prepare the fresh cut lumber for the assembly stage. In an effort to maximize efficiency, materials are organized in a manner so as to allow the computer saw technician to make as many simultaneous cuts as possible. The technician programs the computer saws for a series of exacting cuts and the raw lumber is loaded. As the computer saws complete their cuts, each of the individual components of what will ultimately be assembled into a completed truss, is bundled and coded for assembly. Looking much like a giant puzzle with tell-tale coding, the bundles then proceed to the assembly tables. |
